Though it lacks their late-’70s gems (”Doctor Love”; ”Let No Man Put Asunder,” recently covered by Mary J. Blige), this set offers a fine remixed sampling of the Philly-based disco trio’s early hits. The admonitory tunes about cold-blooded players and unwanted pregnancy belie the myth that disco was simply about carefree love. And the sassy and soulful way lead singer Rochelle Fleming issues these warnings is the act’s most enduring appeal.
